We have been using the SimonDR retrofit system in our podiatry office for about a month. The quality of the images produced is fantastic. Each and every xray is perfectly exposed each and every time. That alone has made our investment worthwhile. Their support staff, which we have hardly needed, is knowledgeable, prompt and very friendly. I have had the responsibility over the last few years to research digital x-ray for our hospital. I have reviewed several companies and several types of digital x-rays and in the last year narrowed it down to 3-4 companies and either CCDD or Flat Panel x-rays. We made the decision to go with CCD.

After meeting Paul McCabe of Imaging Services who represents SimonDR in sales and installs the equipment and Paula Ellison of HR Simon who is the Vice President for SimonDR they stood out above all others, offering better extended warranty, excellent one on one training, most up to date digital equipment and reliable service which is the backbone to any equipment or software purchase. Once we had made the decision to go with SimonDR the processes was very quick and painless. Within 4 weeks from order Paul McCabe and his team removed our old equipment and installed the new x-ray equipment within 8 hours. It went flawlessly. The next morning minor calibrations were completed and that afternoon we had our first full staff training in the operations of the new digital equipment. It was breathtaking, quality of the images, the ease of use of the software was unbelievable. Krystal who is the IT tech for SimonDR is an excellent trainer. She took her time to explain in detail the software to all of our staff and answered our questions in a true professional manner. It was an exciting day for us to step into a whole new realm of x-ray procedures.

It has now been a month since we had the install and I must say the ease of using the equipment and software has cut our time in half if not more for a set of x-rays. We have had some questions that have popped up and when calling Krystal she has returned our call within several minutes and if it was something we need right away she returned our call within 1-2 minutes. The service has been outstanding. The equipment is working great and I can say without a doubt it was the best decision I have made when purchasing equipment for the hospital.

I just wanted to relate to you my experiences with Simon DR, to date. The transition to digital has been seamless and very simple. Your staff of professionals has been a pleasure to deal with in the cable drops and pre-installment planning. What has impressed me the most about your company is the rapid response and excellent customer service that I have experienced to date. The minor issues that I have had were quickly resolved and have always been done on the same day or within a 24 hour window. You even rewrote software at my request to correct an issue I was having! It seems logical to me in making my decision to purchase the Simon DR system that the company and support are local, and I felt that was a huge advantage over the competition. Also, your company’s strong interest in the podiatry market and the development of a unit for specific podiatry application, in my opinion, is important to me, as well. I understand that additional upgrades to the software package in podiatric application are forthcoming, too.

I was very resistant at first to proceed with a digital system due to the expense, and did not see the inherent value to doing so. Now, as I look back in retrospect, I am so sorry that I did not make the move earlier! Prior to going digital, I used an automatic Konica processor. The constant mess of dealing with the chemicals and maintaining a darkroom was always an inconvenience. The constant flow of chemicals down the drain and required waste water permit was always bothersome to me, and I knew how environmentally unfriendly that system was. Additionally, even with the automatic processor, each film took 2 minutes to process and when doing 6 views between 2 feet, my medial assistant was off the floor for extended periods of time. The taking of x-rays and subsequent processing always slowed the process of seeing patient and interrupted flow.

Now the process is so quick and streamlined. It is clean and environmentally green. The constant smell and flow and of chemicals down the drain is gone for good! My darkroom is being redesigned and reconstructed to allow for another treatment room in my office, and the financial gain from that alone has made this decision all-the-better. The flow of new patients and those requiring x-rays is phenomenal during a typical busy schedule. There is no down time for my medical assistant, and as a result, her time is spent more efficiently. Patient flow has noticeably improved. Once the x-ray is taken, it is clearly displayed on the high-resolution touch screen in about 4 seconds! Many of my patients have commented on how nice the technology is and how they like that the practice is being “up-graded.” It has been great PR for my office. The clarity and precision of the images are nothing less than fantastic. The manipulation and editing/annotation tools that you include in the software portion of the package are intuitive and easy to learn and use.

Overall, I am thrilled in being an owner of the Simon DR system, and I am proud to be involved in its continued development in the specific applications to my profession of podiatry. So I would like to take this time to thank you and your team of professionals for making my experience in dealing with your company and your product nothing less than excellent.
